How did I, the most beloved dragon slayer in the tri-kingdoms become the most wanted man? I wondered that as I awaited my execution in the dungeon of the Andleburg Castle. The same castle that I had been the honored guest during numerous occasions before. I was even betrothed to the king’s fair daughter, Alashia. Nonetheless, the kingdom wanted me dead.
It really wasn’t my fault that I had betrayed the kingdom. I blame it on King Wolfgang, for he knew I wasn’t ready to lead his men. He set me in a situation that I was doomed to fail; however, because of his enduring love to me, the son he never had, he was willing to put his crown in danger to let me escape.
I had been an icon to the kingdom since I was a young lad. I could do what most men only dreamed about doing. I could slay dragons. Andleburg, along with the surrounding kingdoms, owed their safety to me. It was because of me they could farm and walk their roads without the worry of dragons.
