Hes also being blackmailed by the Russian Ministry of Defense to make sure that his views and recommendations match those of the Armys hardliners. He sees no way out of his unhappy situation until he meets a young CIA officer in Vienna and Golovin thinks he has found a solution to his problems but has he? He starts down a lonely path of espionage, which proves to be much more complicated than hed originally thought it would be. This is the realistic story of espionage from the perspective of the Russian agent, who has no diplomatic immunity if caught and has to deal with the psychological pressures and fears of being a spy all by himself.
