I was full of fire and ready to lead the men to war, the problem was, I only had about a hundred men behind me. There was no way we would take back the Kingdom of Andleburg with those small numbers.
I needed Princess Alashia in order to rally more men to my army. I was sure with her by my side, we could convince the Kingdoms of Cloats and Candleshaw to side with us. But, she had left me.
Without Princess Alashia, I sailed back to Andleburg with a meager amount of men. After another horrific ship ride, I returned to the soil of my birth, with Imara, the dragon woman by my side. I was glad she had joined me, but I really didn’t have time for her, for I needed every free moment to prepare for war. She must have grown tired of me, for she disappeared, and I was too busy to notice.
With more ease than I anticipated, I aligned the other kingdoms in our cause. I had full control of their armies. The problem came in retaining the people of Andleburg. They didn’t trust me, for I had let them down once before. I needed something for them to anchor to, and so I told them a small lie. I told them that Princess Alashia and I had been married just before the king’s death. Knowing how much King Wolfgang loved me, they accepted my lie fully, and they were ready to fight behind me.
