A Wing and a Prayer

Cassandra Stanley is a fun-loving party girl who came to New Orleans as soon as she graduated from high school to escape her boring small town life.  She is a hot mess headed for self-destruction if someone--or something--doesn't intervene.  She was definitely not the ideal assignment for a flippant guardian angel who already hated her job and had screwed up every assignment she had even been given.

Detective Braden Comieux is grouchy and irritable...not to mention he drinks too much.  Already under scrutiny by his fellow officers, he is hell bent to solve his latest case.  Not just to gain back respect with the department, but because it could lead to karma for his cheating ex-wife.  Watching out for his best interests is a dry, no-nonsense guardian angel who is at the end of his rope when it comes to his errant prodigy.

One steamy night Cass refuses to serve the drunken detective at the bar where she works and tempers flare.  When the detective later rescues her from potential harm in a French Quarter bar, he recognizes that she might be just the person he needs to solve his case. Maybe even a little more.
