This is essential reading to anybody who has an interest in teaching or becoming a teacher. It is not a training manual or a set of guidelines, but a collection of my experiences during my teacher training. Some are funny, some are emotionally charged, some will make you argue with me and the way I handled the situation. My intention is to let you see what happened and how I stumbled my way through, warts and all.
From my experience of many conversations with different professionals, there are a lot of working people who are content but unfulfilled by their working lives. Many yearn for a change but are afraid to take the leap into something new for fear of losing what they have. Golden handcuffs have them locked in the mundane for fear of losing income and future regrets of rocking the boat. I understand these fears because I had them. I took the plunge and this is a record of what happened to me in my year of re-training from office worker to school teacher.
