I gave up waiting for my mate a long time ago. Hell, I'm a forty-three-year-old, socially awkward author who hates crowds. I spend more time alone than any other werewolf I know, so it's not really a surprise that I'm still alone. I'm okay with it, mostly.

But when I follow the delicious scent of my mate in a city far from home, I'm honestly not sure I want my life to change that much. I really wasn't expecting to find a human male dressed in a multicolored jumpsuit, wildly colored hair, extra big shoes, and a bright red nose that blinks.

I love being a clown. It's the best part of my job with the circus, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I laugh, I joke, I clown around, and late at night I find a seriously sexy guy and… Well, okay, it's been a while and I'm going through a bit of a slump but I have high hopes. My life's not perfect, sometimes it's not even fun, but it's the best I can hope for right now, especially since my ex left me with a mountain of debt.

Besides, I don't need a relationship. I have people who need me, seven-year-old twin girls who trust me to look after them, and a circus family ready to help. I'm right where I need to be, so I have no complaints.
