A. I. Trigger
An Artificially Intelligent Short Story
Albert and Giada are two scientists in love, and they want to share that love with their robot, ADAM. Love, however, can’t be programmed, and so they search for the elusive Artificial Intelligence Trigger that will spark real emotion in their creation.
This robot love story was written as part of a contest. I’ll let the contest’s own words explain: “One winner’s original story will be published in the Simon & Schuster paperback edition of the novel “The Astounding, the Amazing, and the Unknown,” by Paul Malmont. (snip) Finish the story begun by one of the characters in the new novel. Start your version with “The robot felt…” Finish with “In the end, the robot felt nothing. He wasn’t programmed to.” The up-to-2000 words in between are all yours.”
And I made it mine! I had a lot of fun with this story, and would love for you to read it…so it is, and shall ever be, free!
