All Out for Souls

All Out for Souls was originally delivered as a sermon by J.B. Chapman in the mid-1940s; this booklet is a manuscript of that sermon. Chapman uses autobiographical details about his own spiritual beginnings to shed light on his involvement in the creation of the Church of the Nazarene. The early Church of the Nazarene flourished because of the simplicity of organization, the spirit of sacrifice of its ministers and people, and passion for souls. Chapman warns the church that excess organization and static contentment of purpose can lead to a stagnant church, which he argues is worse than faulty agitation. The church should not sigh for the old days or rest on its laurels; rather, it should establish and attain the goal of soul-winning through soul passion. Chapman uses the ministries of Drs. R.T. Williams, Hardy Powers and H.V. Miller as an example of true soul passion. All Out for Souls serves as a battle cry for the Church of the Nazarene to regenerate interest in the salvation of others through having a true passion for the souls of mankind.
