Professor Eugen Lind had called a meeting with the world's press. "I have a bad, quite alarming item to tell you all," he started. "We have found a bacteria that is eating up the world's supply of crude oil. This is happening to every oil field throughout the entire world. So far, only the deposit north of Scotland, and the asphalt oil in Canada are the only two places not being eaten by the bacteria so far. The oil all over the world is being changed to a brown water sludge.
When called to the White House, professor Lind could only repeat what he had said at the newscast. But, he added. This is our opportunity to go full steam with the four natural resources we have at our disposal. I am talking abut wind, water, solar and earth-heat. These four sources can and has to be worked out to supply what the oil has supplied earlier.
Most countries started with water, wind and solar energy. Those living farther north also used the earth heat as a source of power. Then one day, one of professor Lind's assistants came and told him that something was happening to the bacteria. When they have eaten all the oil, they are turning in to a gas form. When we tested the gas it was pure natural gas, we have been using for years. It was a surprise that was accepted even in the Arabic world. But trouble rarely comes by itself, the same with the gas, and the bacteria.
