An autobiographic tale of the life of a little boy, born May 23rd, 1946 on a 5 square mile Island called Saba, with appr. 900 inhabitants and who had to leave his homeland to further his education abroad. Many years later, he returned to fill the functions of Administrator, Act. Lt. Governor on that Island, and topping his career off as Act. Director and Act. Minister Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands Antilles in The Hague, Holland. His journey through the realms of the Antillean Government and interaction with officials and politicians, generally of Curaçao origin, brought to light, underlying racial, arrogant and superiority tendencies, towards foreign investors, persons from other Islands, and even amongst themselves. This all attributed to the faltering answers of why, despite sound efforts, attracting foreign investment to the Island, was never really successful. The highlight of his career was taking the oath of office in hands of her Majesty Queen Beatrix.
