Josh Rosenthal writes music, not books. Mostly. When he plays shows and tells stories, sometimes the listener cares more about stories told than songs sang. Sometimes. As a result, he took a year to craft those stories into An Oak Tree Late in Winter. In 2009, Rosenthal released phase on of the Villages Suite, four albums worth of music in four months. An Oak Tree Late in Winter is the second phase the Villages concept. Because phase one incompletely communicated what he wanted to say, he chose to write a book fully explaining the story behind the songs written and recorded. Rosenthal uses narrative to show God's use of other people in shaping his story. From learning to forgive well, to letting go of a past unchangeable, An Oak Tree Late in Winter unpacks God's ability to Redeem even the most seemingly irredeemable memories.
