Anah's War

On her eleventh birthday Anah received a red leather notebook from her favourite Aunty. It became a diary, a place for her secrets, her confessions and seeing her life in print. For the next five years Anah tells of her life in Nijmegen, a small Dutch town along the German border, and the war which creeps into every aspect of her existence.
We watch Anah and her family negotiate the Nazi presence but still maintain a covert defiance. We see ordinary people handling extraordinary events, a girl lose her childhood and her town become a focal point in the Allies ultimate victory.
