The past haunts the present as journalist Impey Dalrymple finds. Ghosts are unleashed when she introduces her childhood playmate Natty Bell to her new friend Lady Olga Brancaster. When one finds the other battered in a bunker, the club plunges into a crisis.
Caught in the fray, Impey, herself a journalist, finds herself once again drawn into the part of sleuth. An expert in animal behaviour, she finds she can use her skills to distinguish friends from enemies.
