Ten year old Beatrice Brown has a very vivid imagination. Sometimes this clouds her good judgment. Instead of going home after missing her school bus, she chooses to stay in the nearby forest with her cat Rufus. It’s December and winter has set in with lots of snow. In order to seek shelter from the strong winds the pair walks towards a protected arbor. Due to circumstances beyond their control, they are picked up and tossed around inside of a blizzard. They are blown into a magical, beautiful, and illuminated place where fantasy comes to life. It is there that they experience intrigue, excitement and adventure. There are consequences that Beatrice must accept for her hasty and thoughtless decisions. That is why her encounter with the Snow People is one of the most important days of her life.
