Behold, I Make All Things New

Have you ever wondered why God created a world full of danger, disaster, and death? Have you ever wondered why God created a world full of wickedness and evil? Have you ever wondered why God created a world with so much heartache and brokenness? Well, He didn’t! The world God created and what we live in today resemble each other in appearance only. For you see, when sin entered the world, Scripture tells us that nothing was spared from its impact. All of creation was subjected to the curse of sin. The Apostle Paul however tells us that as Christians we look for “the blessed hope” that one day soon God will purge all of creation of sin’s curse. The hope that we hold to is not just wishful thinking, but the absolute confidence that God is capable and willing to fulfill His promise for eternity.

 The Hebrew writer, following a list of faithful men and women of the past, stated unequivocally that they “all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” As Christians, we share that common bond with the faithful of the past, an unconditional promise and expectation that we are destined for a greater place, a place free of sin’s curse, a place radiant with the glory of God, and a place designed for eternity.
