Poetry is fading from the contemporary scene as the modern world pounds ever onward seeking the next opportunity for success and notoriety. It may not be missed until it is gone for a long time. Progress has taken on a rap song rhythm where beat matters most and meaning is often too vile for the tender heart. Poetry is for contemplation. Few these days take time for contemplation or for poetry. Even those who publish today have little patience for anything that takes up more than a few lines.

Between Two Worlds is written in recognition of this change. It is my attempt to share what I see happening as the plow of progress covers the world I once knew. If has meaning it will not likely be found by those who have only a moment to spare or lack the determination it takes to stop and smell the fragrance that is always there . . . even amidst the burning. The real world never really goes away, but it is only discovered by those who care enough to dig through the rubble of the demanding present.
