Everything happens for a reason.

In a society judged by a vengeful God and oppressed by Roman rule, everything happens for a reason. When a baby boy is born blind, the only question is whether God has punished him in advance for a sin yet to happen, or whether the sins of the parents are to blame.

When you are that boy, neither option is enough. While begging for alms at the Jerusalem Temple, another question haunts him. With so much blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin, why can't a young blind man be forgiven? Then, stunned by a new answer to the familiar question, the blind man discovers the rabbi behind the radical new thinking more shocking than his unconventional answer.

This is neither the formerly blind man's story, nor the rabbi's, but merely the moment when their stories collide. Based of the Biblical text of John, chapter nine, this fictional retelling of the man born blind transplants a timeless encounter with Jesus the Christ into contemporary hearts and minds without abandoning its historical and contextual roots.

Blood is an INCARNATIONAL SHORT meant to be read as an inspirational stand-alone story or together with Scripture as a conversation starter and study aid.

Other INCARNATIONAL SHORTS include:

Water: John 4

Light: John 7

Stone: John 8
