This 1899 study, which was Trevelyan's doctoral dissertation, is less a biography of the English cleric who led the 14th century Lollard movement than a general picture of English society, politics, and religion at the time, focusing on Wycliffe as a central figure. Specifically, Trevelyan describes a poor class of people, a corrupt church, a powerless king, among other issues. 

 “What is easy to read has been difficult to write,” Trevelyan declares in this 1913 volume. Clio: A Muse, and Other Essays, is a collection of Trevelyan’s clearly presented views on historical writing, as well as articles on George Meredith, the art of poetry, and John Woolman. The book concludes with the intriguing “If Napoleon had Won the Battle of Waterloo.”

This 1914 volume covers the history of England between the years 1603 and 1714, tracing the Civil War, the Restoration, and the Glorious Revolution, and detailing how English traditions of liberty and representative democracy triumphed over the attempts of the Stuarts to establish a more absolutist monarchy. Published in 1911, this is the final volume in Trevelyan's trilogy about Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882), the Italian patriot and revolutionary, which began with Garibaldi's Defense of the Roman Republic (1906) and continued in Garibaldi and the Thousand (1909). This volume aimed to trace “the course of larger military, diplomatic, and political events” which led to the “Italian Kingdom.”

Published in 1909, this is the second volume in Trevelyan's trilogy about Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882), the Italian patriot and revolutionary, which began with Garibaldi's Defense of the Roman Republic (1906) and ended in Garibaldi and the Making of Italy (1911). This 1913 biography of the British Radical and Liberal statesman John Bright (1811-1889) was hailed by the New York Times as "masterly" and destined to "assume a position of authority and permanence in the library of English political literature." The volume follows Bright’s life from his schooldays, through the battle of the Corn Laws and the American Civil War, to his death.

This 1922 history has as its object, in the author's words, "to enable the student or general reader to obtain . . . a picture of change and development during the hundred and twenty years when things . . . were undergoing a more rapid change of character than in any previous epoch of our annals."

This 1919 collection of essays is a republication of the 1913 volume, Clio, A Muse, with the addition of four new essays:  "The Two Carlyles," "Englishmen and Italians," "The News of Ramillies," and "The Hegira of Rousseau."  Contents also includes "If Napoleon had won the Battle of Waterloo" and "The Muse of History."
