Stranded on the side of the road in the worst snow storm of the season, Riley has no choice but to hitchhike through the intermittent traffic. Home is seventy five miles in either direction. Picked up by three high school football players who kidnap her, take her to their cabin and contain her for the entire weekend, brutally beating and raping her, and leaving her for dead, naked in the snow. Stumbling to her survival, she burns the cabin down and is rescued by an unknown woman.
While she is trying to overcome the life altering trauma, she meets the gorgeous Scott Goldman, a detective who questions her about finding her cell phone at the scene of the charred remains of the cabin. Instead of reporting the incident, she plans her own revenge, keeping her secret from the detective, trying to come up with excuses for why her phone was there.
As Riley tries to keep her distance from Scott, he tries to close in on her, not taking no for an answer. Although her past built a wall surrounding her heart, she gives in to his constant invitation and still, a relationship blossoms as she begins to carry out her first revenge, using Scott’s insight and information to keep updated from the legal standpoint.
Finding their places of residence, merely eight miles from the town where she lives and attends college, she begins her payback. After settling two of the scores, the third surprises her in the late hours of night, brutally attacking her again. But instead, she kills him and once again, finds herself on death’s doorstep due to the severity of the attack.
Just before her wedding, a brother of her third offender threatens her to turn herself in. Waiting until their honeymoon, she decides to confess her crimes to her new husband, the detective. Scott suddenly finds himself choosing between his ten year career and his heart as she tells him everything.
After the nerve wrecking court trial, the brother who threatened her didn’t like the outcome when she, essentially, got away with three murders. In his own retaliation against the woman who killed his brother, he attacks her in her house, instead, shooting her new husband in the head. Overcoming the heroine that her assailant injected into her veins, she kills him.
Riley, now two days from her due date, goes into labor as her husband is fighting for his life in the operating room. Giving birth to their son, Riley learns Scott survived the surgery but was now in a coma. When Scott wakes from his coma, he learns of her success, rising above death to end the turmoil within her life.
