The dawn light shimmered over a city in ruin. The reddish gloom it cast fell over mounds of crumbling, stone blocks and steel structures that might as well been giant skeletal hands reaching for the sky. A smoking airship spiraled out of control toward these mammoth frames, and then exploded into a ball of fire. The debris rained down over the war-torn surface, and the ashes of the ship’s lone occupant settled among the thousands of others who perished here. Welcome to planet Calsufer.

Colton Asher's instincts had warned him of aiding a pair of female agents when they asked him for help finding a hidden alien colony on the planet's surface. But being stranded on Calsufer most of his life, he was willing to do anything for a chance to leave. All he needed to do was guide them in exchange for passage off the planet. Unfortunately, the women were not the only ones interested in the colony. A race of aggressive warrior people were determined to find it first, for rumors grew the mysterious aliens possessed technology that could revolutionize star travel. Colton quickly realizes his mistake getting involved when the entire planet comes under siege. And soon he discovers at the heart of it all lurks the one man that has made his life a living hell -- the man he believed murdered his father.
