Catching Stillness, by Jeffrey Vionito, contains both new poems and several other selections from his first collection, The Heart That Never Breaks. In this new publication, Jeffrey expands beyond the realm of poetry to also include prosaic expressions and essays. The topics of his composition and verse encompass many inspiring themes of spirituality, including, Love, Unity, Peace, Awakening, and Self-Discovery. Jeffrey’s writing style offers a fresh perspective on these topics, leaving the reader with an opportunity of reflection to help expand their own view of the vast spiritual essence that flows through all of creation.

The following is an excerpt from the book that captures a glimpse of a common but personal childhood memory. It is memories such as these that help bring us back to the spiritual heart as a point of remembering the importance of realizing and awakening to our true nature.

"I remember as a young child growing up, I would see the world around me and notice the dancing disarray of chaos mingling with humanity. I would ask myself, “Why is there theft and violence, abuse and poverty?” There was so much imbalance even my five year old eyes could see it. I would think to myself, “Everyone is so much older than I am, if I can see it, why can’t they? If I know deep within, the qualities of kindness, compassion, and Love, they must know them too, right?” Maybe somewhere along the way, the innocent stillness of the heart that we knew as children, gets buried in the hustle of busy thought and worldly progress. But what did I know? I was just a kid."
