We didn’t have handcuffs with lace or with padding. We didn’t have the kind of restraints you bought in a sex shop. We just had the handcuffs that Fowler and Dawes had for work. While the others went to the California king sized bed that we could all fit in with room to spare, I grabbed Fowler’s cuffs and showed them to Nancy, hanging off one finger of either hand.
“Kinky,” Nancy said.
“You don’t mind?” I asked. “I’d like to start with you.”
Nancy just smiled.
So I grabbed her left hand and cuffed it to the bed with Fowler’s set, and then with Dawes’ set I cuffed her right hand to the bed.
“You don’t have another set to cuff my legs to the bottom? Get me good and spread eagle?”
I didn’t. But that wasn’t my goal. Fun wasn’t my goal. Once Nancy was cuffed, I sat back and looked at her.
“Now. I think we have some talking to do,” I said.
“What? What game is that?” Nancy didn’t sound alarmed yet—not for real.
“Not a game. You know what I’m getting at. So talk. Don’t make me ask questions. That will only make this go harder for you.”
Evie has tracked down the man who has been trying to have her assassinated, trying to ruin her life—as payback for when she exposed his secrets and ended his career.
