The Cotswolds is a region steeped in history. In the three poems contained in this volume, the Victorian antiquary Richard Webster Huntley provides a picturesque glimpse into three episodes from the history of the region, relating to three of the area's manor houses. The title poem and "Squire Matthew" are set during the English Civil War and tell the tragic stories of two local families' involvement in that conflict. "Huntingdon Manor" is a more personal story of a doomed love affair.
It is recommended that readers use a smaller font and/or landscape orientation while reading poetry on their Kobo.
