Coaching is Simple…You’re Up! Is for the Player in addition to the Coach. After all it is my belief, every player needs to be his or her own coach.

Charles Caleb Colton said, “…[coaches] are born with two eyes, but with one tongue, in order that they should see twice as much as they say.” Something everyone should recognize and know this quote applies to both the player and coach. After all a successful player must believe they need to, no, must become their own coach.

“Coaching is Simple…You’re Up!” deals with several critical aspects of the offensive aspect of the game that I believe are never taught. Some are mentioned prior to practice, while others are skimmed over, and most are filled with so many fallacies they end up being miscommunicated.
Ever watch a well-run pre-kindergarten school. It is amazing what these teachers are capable of. I remember being in awe of how quickly and effectively these pre-school kids played a game they just learned. In a matter of minutes they understood the concept and a couple even became intuitive and took the game to a new level.
The Pre-School Secret of Success; Explain the object of the game, explain how they accomplish this object, explain the rules, then play. Somewhere we lost sight of the simple object of this game and filled it will fallacies. Most Valuable Player’s “… is Simple,” series [Hitting is Simple…Coaching is Simple…] is my effort to get this game back on track. Explaining the object of the game, telling the player how they can accomplish the object, explain the rules, then, just let them play.
