Communication has its origin in the Latin word ‘communicare’ which means ‘to share’. Communication is the activity to send information for others to receive and understand. It is a process of living. Here we will be discussing about human communication, though there are many other communication systems as well. Human communication is not restricted to the word of mouth or the written word, it has many more dimensions, it may be verbal or non-verbal, written or unwritten, gesture or body movement, tone or pitch, touch or distance and sign or signal. Communication skill is a broad-based term and is suggestive of various ways that influence the process of communication.
