Intrepid amateur sleuth, Emily Menotti, is taking her first Caribbean cruise along with the members of the Wayward Sisters book club. As they head out of New York City for warmer climes, one member goes missing and another becomes ill. Emily begins to investigate, but she is frustrated by the nonchalance of the Captain who seems more concerned with the reputation of his ship than the disappearance of a passenger. Even the ship’s doctor is unsympathetic to their plight.

With the help of her clairsentient pal, Melinda, Emily questions the staff and enlists the help of the cruise director, who is glad to assist when he’s not romancing female guests. At Melinda’s suggestion, a séance is held on board the ship, which is more successful at revealing old secrets than providing new clues.

Amid the tropical backdrops of St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and Tortola, Emily continues her investigation. There are motives aplenty, including an ex-husband who balks at paying alimony, a former high school boyfriend now married to another in their group, and the ongoing resentment of two unmarried friends. Join Emily as she solves the mystery of the missing newlywed on a chilling cruise with the uninvited passengers of jealousy, revenge, and death.
