The Imperium Navy is but a shattered remnant of its former glory. The Drek, Druzsni and Kroor have all been attacked and decimated by the F'gat Ynos. Only a handful of humans have survived and most of them live in simple squalor on Earth with the Lord Cardinal Alos Alos Napaj, away from the ever-prying eyes of the Ynos. If Ailanthus' plan is to succeed, now is the time for its fulfillment. The Thrumbo Worms are being collected but the Guiders, under the tutelage of Christl, are not ready. Thus ends the saga of Ailanthus and his friends as they fight to the bitter end in a hopeless attempt to destroy the Ynos before they destroy everything.
