Dayne Jonra, a wandering bard, has heard the unsettling legends about the hidden village of Fortune's Way. The place is shrouded in magic and mystery. Dayne needs to write an epic song to make his name, and when he finds the village at last, he discovers the dire warnings might be true after all. The village is stuck in time, held in the grip of Cedonia, an evil priestess. Cedonia intends to sacrifice a young woman to ward off the anger of the gods and keep the town safe from the demons haunting the surrounding forest. But Ralion Belgan dares to defy her, struggling to save his little sister, the young woman chosen as the sacrifice. Dayne is fascinated by Ralion, drawn to the fierce man even as he tries to understand the dark mystery gripping the village. Winning the heart of Ralion will not be easy, even as the shadow around them deepens.

Ralion doesn't like this handsome bard who has come to their isolated village, and he doesn't trust him either. Not at first anyway. Dayne has powerful magic in his songs, but he's an outsider and a troublemaker. As they struggle to find the truth about the priestess and her hypnotic hold on the village, Ralion finds himself falling for the silver-tongued bard. His songs speak to Ralion's heart. But the song in Fortune's Way is darker than either man ever imagined...

Reader note: contains m/m fantasy romance themes including male male love
