Kit could see the outline of a man through the transparent curtain. He was rattling the doorknob and pushing on the door. That night had taught her how vulnerable and exposed she was.

Then her friends told her about the "Guardian Dog Academy" outside of town, where she meets Debbie, a dog who gives her back her strength.

This is a story about hope, the courage to pursue your dreams, and finding the purpose to take a leap of faith. Alongside Debbie and with a burgeoning romance with her long-time friend David, Kit learns that life is not about age or loss, but is about standing up for animals and people who have no voice, and about finding the power within yourself.
