Sometimes small moments play pivotal parts in where we end up. Scott has just graduated from college and is about to make the best, or worst decision of his life. Departure is a 2100 word romance short story exploring the start of two very different realities, all based on just a few different words.
Author’s Note: 2100 words is just over 8 pages. Some people aren’t interested in something that short, but for some it’s just right. If you’re on the fence about Departure because of its length please go ahead and give it a try. If you like the story but feel like you wanted a tad more then send me an e-mail (I’ve included it at the end of the story) and let me know which of my other stories you’d like me to send you for free and I’ll happily do so. One of the real joys of this new publishing paradigm is that there doesn’t have to be any barriers between the author and the reader.
