Diana

Sequel to Lydia.  When a mysterious woman takes up residence in the woods behind his house, stealing his food, Eddy suspects she is the escapee sought by the operators of an alleged home for the criminally insane.  However, something doesn't add up in the story told by the black-suited men combing the area for the woman, and Eddy offers Diana shelter, learning that she and he are linked not only in the present but also in the past.  Diana possesses extraordinary physical, sensory, and intuitive abilities.  When her fellow prisoners are threatened with the prospect of being sold into slavery, she escapes, seeking the one who holds the key to freeing them and the unborn.  Linked with Eddy through a past life and a past love, she desires the one man she can't have, a man already in love with another.  Memories of another life beset both while they build a new relationship on the foundation of one over a century old.
