Bellerophon is a young adult male. He dreams of performing heroic feats similar too or greater then those performed by his older role models. In our complex society these fantasies can encompass almost anything. However their underlying intent will ultimately involve the acquisition of the capacity to survive as an independent physiological entity in the phenomenal world. Unfortunately, our hero quickly discovers that he doesn't have the power to perform any heroic feats. Nevertheless, he senses the power to perform them lies within himself. Thus, he seeks to capture and harness that enabling energetic quantum symbolically embodied by Pegasos. The myth informs us that our hero is destined to learn humility through inner defeat before he can attain his hearts desire. Obviously, power without any attendant humility would only couple an inveterate young fantasist with the means for his own catastrophic downfall.
