Chinavare's Find is a science fiction/alternative reality series where the hero, Random Arthur Hause, discovers that winning a war may be difficult, but surviving the peace can be more so. In Distant Horizons, the third title of the series, Random learns that winning the war doesn't mean that it's over, and that it's difficult to end a war that has already been won..

Distant Horizons

Elsewhere on Echo World, in Savannah Station, a third set of negotiations was taking place. Eileen Faith Sands stood in the middle of the Discovery II Corporation office, her blue eyes blazing brightly, with her hands on her hips. “Listen, it has to be done. I'm going and that's that,” she said with determination.
“Why must you go alone?” Random asked.
“You read her note. That's how she said she wanted it.”
“Explain to me again, why it is that you're negotiating with Cynthia?”
Eileen looked at Random as if she were trying to cleanse his soul with the fire in her eyes. “It's selfish really. I've finally found a partner that I enjoy being with. Ike said it, I'm happy and I wouldn't trade places with anyone else,” she said with passion in her voice.
Random looked at Eileen as if seeing her for the first time. “I didn't realize this meant that much to you. Where do we go from here?”

     M. A. Roberts has used a combination of history, technology, and a dose of 'what if' to create an interesting and believable alternative future. The beautiful cover art for Distant Horizons was created by Lisa Corson. You can see more of Lisa's creations at Homespun Heritage.
