Writing has always been in the heart and soul of Gary L. Alston.

Back in The Day Gary did Community Theater, Readings and Dramatic Presentations around the country, on platforms with such notables as Leroi Jones (Imamo Ameer Baraka) Sonia Sanchez and others. Dreams, Poems and Short Stories by Gary L. Alston is actually a broad collection of Garys work, some spanning over forty years.

In the 70s the renown poet, writer, educator, Sterling A. Brown referred to Gary L. Alstons work as having sincerity, deep feeling, rebelliousness, hard-boiled humor, pride Today we see many of those same elements in Garys work, as he has begun again to express his passion for writing and dreams for the masses".

Joining a Toastmasters group, TNT, a couple of years ago, Gary was encouraged. He has since acquired his CC (Competent Communication) Award, won speech contest, and is currently working in Advanced Communication Series. Toastmasters has provided Gary to again share his work and receive valuable feedback. Indeed it has rekindled fires that once motivated Gary L. Alston decades ago.

Gary can be reached at P.O. Box 756 Riverdale MD 20738-0756 or by e-mail [email protected]
