The stories in this book are all based on real-life experiences. They often involve events ranging from frigid winter excursions to canoeing life threatening river rapids in the wilds north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Come and join the author, his wife, and many different folks of all ages as they canoe, fish and hunt the great outdoors. Hopefully, the reader will experience the thrill of adventure we have found in nearly fifty years of traveling the northern wilderness.
John H. Gearey was born in Canada in the 1940s. He was raised on a farm in Ontario and fished many of the streams of New Brunswick in his early years. He and his wife were married in the middle of the 1960s. They moved to Sault Ste. Marie with their two children a few years later, where they reside to this day. John experienced a new life in the wilds of Algoma and a new life in Christ after a near-death experience with illness. Now retired, he enjoys writing, oil painting, fishing and canoeing.
