Love is a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection.
It is a warm fondness or liking for another, and involves both the mind and the heart.
The mind or the intellect plays a role because the one who loves does so deliberately with eyes wide open; he well realizes that he and those he loves all have their various weaknesses as well as attractive qualities.
Love moves people to work for the good of others, sometimes, at great personal sacrifice.
Genuine love is not merely intellectual. Coming from the heart, so to say.
It entails deep sincerity and full emotional commitment (1st Peter 1-22)
People who are selfish at heart are rarely capable of a truly loving relationship
They are slaves of their self-preservation instinct.
Can’t see beyond their interest.
But the one that loves thinks of nothing but putting the interest of his loved one ahead of his.
Blessed is the name of the Almighty Creator for creating love and decreeing that it sustains His creation, and that through it, we mortals find more contentment in giving than in receiving.
Those who have should not hesitate to give to those who do
