Over the course of working with 100's of people, Hallgren realized that negative feelings based on a faulty framework or negative belief system damaged a person's emotional health and functioning. When people modified their faulty belief system, they acquired resources and resilience and in effect reset their emotional foundation. Hallgren coined the word Emotionology to describe her approach to working with people.

Emotionology is a collection of emotional skill techniques that quickly change feelings and behaviors for personal growth and improved emotional functioning. Improved emotional functioning frees the mind to create better relationships, release emotional pain, eliminate drama, and create a new future.

Emotionology Ideas & Concepts: How your beliefs work for your happiness is the first of a series of books on Emotionlogy. Other books in the series discuss the methodology and science behind Emotionology and cover understanding how thinking works and how to change the thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, and values that create your world. This book focuses on one of the tools for rebuilding a faulty framework. The tool is to develop a working philosophy. Here, a working philosophy is a set of freely chosen beliefs that most people find helpful. The key is that a freely chosen belief is an idea one has decided to adopt for use as long as it works.

The book introduces a group of ideas that support happiness and a better world. It builds on a premise: We come here by choice to have a physical life and gain experience from which to learn.
It address issues of judgement, co-dependency, scarcity, entitlement or victim thinking as well as anything that doesn’t support acceptance, self-responsibility and interdependence, faith and trust, and abundance. It is a simple set of ideas that may change everything for you.
