This book is part of a guide series that focuses on helping singles change their fate and those in relationships understand some of the frequent dynamics that we can improve by simply adapting our behaviours. Understanding insecurities within others and oneself can bring the necessary knowledge that makes a relationship work, or at least gives it its best shot.
Have you ever asked yourself why you are still single, and do you wish it weren’t so? When we’re in a relationship, we battle out the ups and downs of our emotions from high-flying to low-balling, the discrepancies between two egos that meet, the crisis of identities, the logistics of time and space and the various nuisances of intimate encounters. While the pettiness keeps us too busy to appreciate that we have found love, when we’re single, the freedom of being accountable for yourself and yourself only is short-lived. We often long for the moments we’re back in love again (forgetting what battle it can often be). Being single is sometimes a choice, and sometimes it is a card we’ve been dealt without knowing why. The mind has a way of playing tricks on your emotions. Some of us who have left a bad or a not great relationship to be single, might question that decision after years and years of solitude. When we run from situations that we know aren’t making us happy, or when someone runs from us because we’re not making them happy, we can accept being on our own to lick our wounds, catch up with all those friends we have neglected and then, when we’re ready, get back in the saddle. However, life doesn’t always work like that. Love certainly never does. The time we can handle being single before it gets on our nerves varies greatly between people, between times in our lives and situations. However long it is, the time is too long when you decide you’ve had enough of being single. You have decided you would like to be in a relationship again, or at least get some action that you can enjoy. If that’s the case, you’re annoyed enough to read this book in the hope to get some answers on not only why you are still single but on how you can change that. I hope to share some scenarios with you that might mirror your situation or at least enable you to connect with notions that are close to home. Although we know there are never guarantees in life, and again, certainly never in love, I have learnt that we can never guess when love is around the corner but we can often make sure it isn’t. This book looks at some different situations that keep us from being open to love. Regardless of how much we wish for it and how much we’re sick of being single, there might be barriers we put up that we’re not aware of. This guide looks at some of these and ways of how we can overcome them in order to embrace a new, more promising energy that lets us reconnect.
