Fear, sweat and filth exposed itself into daylight once the heavy chain on the attic door was pulled down. Once opened the dank odor of deprivation stilled any hope of fresh air or sunlight that might have battled its way through rusted windows. Broken promises of the past stacked from end to end, covered in cobwebs, but for one tiny breath of life, that of a helpless child. A child battered, bruised and half starved, The large blue eyes filled with dread each time the young prisoner heard footsteps making their way up the creaking wooden steps. The dragon was once again making her appearance, a dragon from whose loins she had been sprung, Dear Sweet Mother! Mother, always watching, always with a pint of brew in hand and ready to strike her poisonous venom.
