When Gustav Stratil-Sauer set out to explore Afghanistan with his Wanderer motorcycle in 1924, he could not imagine what a thrilling adventure his trip would soon become. After he had left Leipzig, Germany, he had to experience the challenge of travelling on pre-war roads and in countries which were rarely visited by foreign people at the time.
Falls, injuries, break-downs, diseases and hostile communities nearly cost him his life. In the end he shot a nomad in self-defence. Sentenced to death by the Afghan court, his voyage went beyond control ... and the book turns into a criminal justice thriller.
