Life-worn Tom (Dixon) is hoping that a 1 to 1 photography tuition session booked by his wife will help his rehabilitation from years of depression, ill-fortune and anxiety. However, we soon witness the agitated state of Tom’s ‘flip-flop’ mind as his tutor, obsessively driven and world-acclaimed photographer Graham Downton, fails to show.. When Graham does eventually arrive, Tom encounters a pre-occupied and deeply troubled artisan. It is only in the gathering gloom at the end of the day on a deserted Dorset cliff top that Tom learns the reasons why.

An air-ambulance, two very differently unfulfilled wives, an opportunistic lothario and an unprincipled brother all add to the already heady-mix of tension and intrigue. The reality of the emerging situation becomes increasingly hard to bear for each of the leading figures and inevitably brings with it the full gamut of raw emotion. Suspense builds for the characters still further with the stomach churning search in France for a missing child. The tensions are heightened by the ubiquitous mobile phone, ignored messages and trying altercations with the French authorities. The conclusion brings new, unexpected drama that sees very different outcomes emerge for the four main protagonists.

Fall of the Dice’ has been described by readers as being 'True to life', 'uplifting', 'seat-edge stuff', 'uplifting', 'un-put-downable' ‘ and a  'crackingly good read for a debut novel'. Plus you can enjoy Fall of the Dice knowing that profits from the book are being donated by the author to local community charities.
