A chance meeting at a SciFi-Fantasy convention leads Jared to the rescue and fitful romancing of Rana, descendant of the ancient Sea Elf pirates. With the aid of Arribus, an elf and one of the "Old Ones," and Handir, the Black Elf of Brunea (a land that borders the Tarkona and Rana's city), and the queen of Brunea herself, they fight to stay alive while reclaiming and rebuilding this once famous sea faring city.
