In 1962 the shortest war in history was fought between two superpowers. In the space of an hour cities were annihilated and millions of people were dead. But nuclear war was just the beginning. It was during The Darkness, in the ruins of the old world where life fought to exist, that a new counter culture movement was founded. Humanity was divided between the governments that clung to control of their land and the united people of The Green, who sought an end to that control.

And so as the ash settled and light returned to the earth, the Revolutionary War began and humanity fought itself for the right to rule. After nearly a decade of war a stalemate was reached; the established governments forced back into heavily fortified cities where the Green would not chance an attack. At the cost of two billion lives, a ceasefire was agreed; an uneasy peace that would last for over thirty years.

But now, in 2014, tensions are rising again. Many of the Free Cities are falling apart from within, resources stretched for decades are at breaking point, giving people little choice but to push out into the plentiful lands beyond their walls. At the same time rogue elements of The Green Army, cast out by The Green for their no longer useful blood lust, plot the final destruction of the Free Cities.
