Georgiana

Daughter of immigrant parents who run a small Diner near Washington Square, New York, Georgie inherited her mother's looks and by her late teens is already the prettiest girl on the block. Her life might have been predictable except that from the time her art teacher put a pencil into her hand, she showed an ability to draw and later paint that astounds those who take an interest. But as if having given so much to just one person, Fate demands payment, and from the time her father pushes her mother and her lover under a sub-way train and she accepts an offer to escape to Paris, love leads to her being jailed for a murder she did not commit and fame to jealousy and betrayal.

Georgiana is the story of her meteoric rise to fame under the patronage and protection of George Lunas, a wealthy French tycoon and her escape from those who would destroy her when he is shot.
