How many articles, books or comments have you read or received about writing a resume? How often do you get feedback as to the state of your resume, why it’s not correctly formatted, wrong font, wrong chronological order, too long, too short, no picture and of course the obligatory blood type and weight were also missing and can we also have your primary school teachers home address for reference checking?

I have worked in management positions since I was age seventeen; something I do not advise as its not good for ones ego or the power-trip one gets – think Ming the Merciless of Flash Gordon fame, and you can picture me (but with more hair). I have run small businesses, large international operations and even had a few years running one of Asia’s largest independent recruitment and headhunting operations. I have seen more CV’s or resume’s than I care to recall. I have read documents that indicate how ‘inept’ someone is in problem solving, they demonstrated ability in multi-tasting, were anxious to use their exiting skills and they can type without looking atthekeyboard! The person who indicated that their hobby was mushroom hunting was hired - NOT.

This books lets you understand the simple formatting strategies to use so you can stand out from all the other CV's on the desk of the recruiter or Human Resource professional - all with a bit of humour thrown in, JUST so you don't fall asleep!
