GHOSTS OF WORLD WAR II haunt the psycho-hunting Mounties of Special X and New York lawyer-detective Wyatt Rook today. To uncover the motives of modern serial killers in these three dark thrillers by criminal lawyer Michael Slade, they must delve into diabolical fact-based conspiracies hatched in the closing months of WWII. In SWASTIKA, SS Sturmbannführer Wernher von Braun’s revolutionary V-2 rockets mask the dirty secret behind 1947’s baffling Roswell Incident and the madman currently carving swastikas into his victims’ foreheads. In KAMIKAZE, fallout from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima creates a Japanese Yakuza crime syndicate monster obsessed with revenge against an American airman and his granddaughter, Corporal Jackie Hett of Special X. In CRUCIFIED, 1942’s Desert War in North Africa unleashes biblical disaster from the Holy Land, and spawns an Inquisition psycho in the Vatican driven to keep heretical relics from public exposure. In all three novels, the bloodsucking past sinks its fangs into Slade’s manhunters.

“A perfect blend of historical background, police procedure, and lightning-fast action. Slade’s skill at intertwining the past and the present is uncanny. Start SWASTIKA and you won't want to put it down.” - Crime Spree Magazine

“KAMIKAZE interweaves the atrocities and conspiracies of the past with fast-paced contemporary action. The storytelling is crisp and compelling. As an intense cat-and-mouse game plays out on the streets and in the skies, it’s easily capable of keeping a reader up into the wee hours.” - The Vancouver Sun

“A smoking hot read! Prepare to be entertained. Slade conjures up a Christian’s worst nightmare. This slick whodunit is full of twists and turns.” - The CTV Network

“If you want a series of mysteries better than the puzzles in THE DA VINCI CODE, CRUCIFIED is your book. There is gore to the armpits, some fine lunatics, a touch of heresy, and a fiendish religious cabal.” - The Globe and Mail

“As far as occult thrillers go, this is a fun one. Slade plays various historical events off each other with verve, drawing us into his characters with believable dialogue and lots of bloody action.” - Kirkus Reviews

About the Author:

Michael Slade has acted in over a hundred murder cases. He specializes in the law of insanity. Because his police procedurals fuse crime and horror, Slade was guest of honor at the World Horror Convention and guest speaker at both the international Police Leadership Conference and several RCMP regimental dinners. In World War II, his father flew 47 combat missions in the Battle of the Atlantic, over Europe, and in North Africa’s Battle of El Alamein. Later, he trained pilots who attacked von Braun’s V-2 rockets in 1943, and air raiders in the Far East. These three novels came out of his Pilot’s Flying Log and WWII records.
