This is a light, funny novel centered in ritzy Southampton, New York (Long Island), Manhattan, Paris, France, and the Mojave desert of California. There is an element of "magical realism" in the story and loads of French pastry. The three main characters are Calvin, a mining engineer and prospector operating out of the Mojave desert, Missy is a well to do young woman in Southampton that loves aviation and owns her own huge, high-performance cargo aircraft used for covert rescue and humanitarian ops.  Princess Finvola the third main character and is a bit older but, as Calvin said, you'd need an anthropologist to guess her true age.
