On the day before Christmas Eve Granny continues her tradition of delivering Christmas pies to the neighbors and relatives. This year Lollie and Lou Ann will help. There is a special pie for each home. But then the sisters find out that the last delivery is for the man they call Mr. Grumble. They are afraid to go into his house, but soon learn that their impression of him was wrong. On the way home Granny clips a branch from a thorn bush and uses it to create a wonderful gumdrop tree, teaching the girls goodness can be found in anything.
While Mama and Daddy are at the hospital awaiting the arrival of the new baby, Granny, Lollie and Lou Ann stay busy making preparations for Christmas Day with all the aunts, uncles and cousins. But the sisters worry that it will be a day without Mama and Daddy. Christmas morning arrives with the best gift of all, Mama and Papa with the new baby brother.
