Rage and Jones are offered a free pass to a new gym in south Seattle. They take a flyer to get rid of the fellow passing them out, so they can go to lunch.
The next Saturday they go to the gym. They enter the small building using their flyers in a door entry system. In a matter of moments, they crash through the doors to escape and Jones’ truck takes a beating after the building explodes and burns. Inspector Strong and Detective Smith are called to the scene.
Someone has planned an assassination of Rage and Jones. Failure is as good as a success. Either way the entire Homicide Division is tied up and working on nothing else. A decision tree has been built for the assassination. It covers all the possible move the Homicide officers can make and the counter response to each of their moves before they make it.
Who are they trying to keep away from what? This is the question Homicide must answer, and quickly.
The FBI wonders about the same thing, but feels the attempt might be to keep the Inspector from something? It is not Rage and Jones, they are just the pawns?
How does this relate to Lake Chelan in Eastern Washington and a full Marine Colonel?
