Two halves make a whole relates the story of two men with physical handicaps, besides being gay, who not only learn to overcome their physical limitations, but inspire all of us to dream the impossible dream. Huang, whose mother worked in a chemical factory, was born with no arms, while Hunan lost the use of his legs as a result of an automobile accident, caused by a drunk driver. Both were totally dependant on their families, until they took swimming lessons, offered for the handicap in their home city. Learning to help one another, rather than bemoan their situation, leads the two to discover emotions that both were afraid that they would never experience. Learning that they could also help others overcome their own obstacles, leads them to discover life’s deeper meaning.
